Josie Graham was involved in both ‘The Launch’ and ‘New Identity’ in 2013, exploring Classical masterpieces by Beethoven, Shostakovich, and Martinu.

Josie is a young cellist based in Melbourne who began her cello studies at the age of five. Originally from Bendigo, she was a regular participant in the annual Bendigo Eisteddfod from a young age and went on to win Bendigo Senior Secondary College’s ‘Musician of the Year’ during her final schooling year in 2007. Moving to Melbourne to complete a Bachelor of Music (Honours) at the University of Melbourne, Josie became increasingly involved in chamber music and various high-calibre orchestral projects.

In 2009, Josie, along with three other students at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, founded the Zellwood String Quartet. This ensemble went on to perform in numerous notable concerts, competitions and professional engagements. In 2010, the quartet was selected to represent the University of Melbourne at the Shanghai World Expo and in the following year travelled to Canada to participate in the Summer Chamber Music Residency at the Banff Centre for Creative Arts.

Josie has also been a keen participant in many of the programs run by the Australian Youth Orchestra for a number of years. Since completing her formal studies, Josie has enjoyed participating in a variety of musical collaborations.
